Student Housing & Residence Life is currently seeking a group of outstanding and outgoing student leaders as Resident Assistants and Community Assistants to join our ResLife team during the 2019-2020 academic year. If you are interesting in joining the Housing Team, apply with link provided below.

We are in search of students who would like to take on the challenging, fulfilling, and rewarding leadership role of a Resident Assistants and Community Assistants to be a part of the Residence Life team. For description of each position, please check out the online application (see link below).

2019-2020 Resident Assistant AND Community Assistant Online Job Application

Application Opening Date: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2019 AT 9AM

Application Ending Date: SUNDAY, MARCH 24, 2019 at 5PM.

Informational Sessions:

  • Monday, February 25th at 7PM in the Small Classroom
  • Tuesday, February 26th at 7PM at SHW
  • Thursday, February 28th at 7PM in the Small Classroom

Group process day: Sunday, March 31rd from 9am-1pm in MPR

Interviews: Week of Monday, April 1st to Friday, April 12th

FAQs

1) How do I apply to be a RA or CA?

The application can be found on Handshake or on our housing webpage (csub.edu/housing) under the “Now Hiring” button found on the bottom right hand corner of the main page. All applications must be turned in online. We are not accepting any paper applications.

2) If my GPA is just below the requirement, will you still consider me?

Candidates must have a cumulative GPA of a 2.25 in order to be eligible. No exceptions will be made.

3) Who should I use as a reference?

Candidates will be asked to submit 2 references with their application. References should be current/past supervisors, professors, mentors, or Resident/Community Assistants. Please do not submit references from roommates, classmates, family, or friends.

4) What happens after I submit my application?

Each applicant will undergo a grade, conduct, and completed application check to confirm eligibility. All applicants will be contacted, by the email they put on their application on whether they are eligible. Eligible candidates will be sent an email required to participate in our group process day on. The group process will take place on Saturday, March 3rd from 9am-Noon. At group process day candidates will sign up for an individual interview that will take place Monday, March 5th to Tuesday, March 13th.

5) What if I am undable to attend the group process day?

If you are unable to attend group process day due to an academic commitment special arrangements may be granted. If you have a special situation, please contact Logan (lmorris8@csub.edu) as soon as possible.
