Stef Donev (BA ‘97), a freelance writer and occasional Communications Department instructor, has a new short story out: "Burying Bert"--a comedy about death, heroism, and brothels in the Old West.  It's available as an Amazon Short from Amazon.com. (Amazon Shorts cost 49 cents.) You can learn more about it by clicking here.

Whitney Douglas-Weddell (BA '88) was recently named one of two Kern County Teachers of the Year, selected from a pool of thirty nominees. She teaches several subjects, including government and economics, at Nueva Continuation High School.  According to The Bakersfield Californian, she "uses current events and entertainment in her classroom to keep students focused" and helps them relate to what they're learning in class. Says Douglas-Weddell about her students, "If you're still talking about Perry Como in a Britney Spears world, then you're not reaching them."
