The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing has informed us that the new subject matter program in Social Science we submitted has been recommended for approval.  The Commission will vote on the recommendation at its meeting in December. Once approved, CSUB will begin implementation of the program. Students in the current program will have until July 1, 2009 (the CCTC’s deadline) to complete that program. New students and those who cannot complete the existing program by July will follow the requirements in the new program. Fortunately, the programs are quite similar and this should not prove to be a hardship for students. A reminder: InSt 390, a requirement in both programs, will be offered only once this academic year. It is scheduled for Spring 2009.
