Peer Education Program

Peer Educator Duties:

  • Speak to classes and groups about drug and alcohol issues.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining resource library on alcohol and other drug issues for college students.
  • Assist students, faculty, and staff who are researching alcohol and drug topics.
  • Organize non-alcohol, no-drug-related social activities throughout the year.
  • Coordinate campus-wide alcohol and drug awareness campaigns.
  • Assist in assessment, evaluation, and reporting for the program.
  • Assist in grant writing for potential funding sources.

Peer Educator Qualifications:

  • Ability to work as a team to coordinate activities and programs.
  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Ability to conduct educational workshops.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal sensitively and maturely with people from all cultures, walks of life, and backgrounds.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed.
