CPR and First Aid Course*
Course Description (Student
cost is $25.00)
The CPR Course is a modular course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize
and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for
adult, child and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning
signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in
children. The program is divided into four different sections:
CPR for Adults
This section
teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for the adult.
CPR
for Children
This
course teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for children (1
year to 8 years of age).
CPR
for Infants
This course
teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for infants (birth to
1 year of age).
First Aid
This
section provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the
critical minutes immediately following an emergency until the arrival of
emergency medical services personnel.
Classes are for
CSUB students, staff and faculty only.

Registration Information
Only people who have pre-registered
and are on the course sign up sheet may attend class. Any person who shows up
the day of class and is not on the sign up sheet will be asked to pre- register
for another class!
