This web site was designed for the students of CSU Bakersfield. At this site you will find various health education articles, information sheets, and the current Health Center Newsletter. In the future expect to see up-to-date information from the Kern County Health Department or the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to keep you updated on pertinent health information. A comments section is also provided for students who have specific suggestions or comments about Health Center services.
In addition, from time to time the Student Health Outreach Team (SHOT) and the Health Center may ask you to complete a survey online. These surveys will provide information to the Health Center about your current health care needs so that SHS staff can plan effective programs.
We hope that having the ability to access the wide range of information available from your Health Center will give you a reliable resource for basic health information. In addition, resources for in depth medical information can be found in the web sites listed in Associated Sites, as well as, a variety of other sites on the web. This site is not meant to replace regular visits to your physician or nurse practitioner for specific health concerns.
