Expedited Review: Criteria
Expedited Reviews of "Human Subjects Protocols" are conducted by several CSUB faculty members of the IRB, who provide input to the Research Ethics Review Coordinator, who then communicates with the investigator. Usually, feedback is provided within two weeks following log-in of the protocol at the GRaSP Office.
This level of review is often required for proposed activities that are disqualified from "Exempted from Full Review" by conditions listed on that page. "Expedited Review" is also required for standard noninvasive physical recordings such as heart or brain activity and standard laboratory studies of perception or cognition.
