Exemption from Full Review: Criteria

This level of review of "Human Subjects Protocols" is conducted by the Research Ethics Review Coordinator, occasionally with input from other IRB members. Usually, feedback is provided within one week following log-in of the protocol at the GRaSP Office.

This level of review applies to most research in the normal educational setting. Also qualifying are most surveys/interviews of normal adults, and observations of public behavior. To qualify, participants cannot be considered vulnerable, research cannot involve deception, and if participants can be identified, then disclosure cannot  put participants at risk.
