Masters of Arts in History

Pursuing a graduate degree in history is enriching both personally and professionally, equipping the individual with a deeper understanding of the past and the complexities of the present, and opening the door to a number of careers.

Characteristics of the Program

• A master’s degree in history is usually a requirement for teaching history at a community college.
• The MA in history provides an excellent foundation for teaching history/social science at the high school level, and can earn teachers an increase in salary.
• Develop critical, analytical, and writing skills that are of value.

Fall admission: July 1

Winter admission: November 1

Spring admission: February 1
