January: Continuing
students may obtain their financial aid packets from CSUB's Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships if they did not receive a renewal application in the mail
from the federal government during the months of November and December.
New Admissions applicants may obtain a FAFSA from their local high school
or community college Financial Aid Office, or the Federal Student Aid
Information Center at (800)433-3243.
January
1-March 2 : Complete the FAFSA and mail to the federal processor
or complete the FAFSA on the web and submit the information electronically.
March
2: Postmark deadline to submit FAFSA to the federal processor
for on-time financial aid consideration.
February-May: Four to six weeks after submission of the FAFSA, you should receive
a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal processor. Review and correct
as necessary and return as appropriate. If you are in question, submit
all three parts of the SAR to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships for possible
correction and further processing.
April-August:
Follow-up letters are sent out to applicants whose financial aid files
are incomplete or who have been selected for verification and for whom
additional documentation is required.
April
15: Tentative date for notification of financial aid awards
to on-time applicants will begin.
May-August:
Return completed forms requested by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.
September: Fall classes begin.
