Message from the Director

Director of Financial Aid The Office of Financial Aid Office & Scholarships (OFA&S) is here to help remove financial barriers to assist students in meeting the cost of attendance at CSUB. The role of the Financial Aid Counselor is to try and fill the gap (i.e., "financial need") that exists between the cost of attendance and the student's Expected Family Contribution (i.e., EFC is the amount the government calculates from your FAFSA data that you and/or your family should be able to contribute toward your cost of attendance based on your/their income and assets).

For many students, financial aid can greatly impact their decision about whether or not they can afford to attend college or which institution to attend. This important decision should only be made with a clear understanding of the financial aid process, deadlines, document requirements, benefits and responsibilities. Therefore, we hope the information provided in our web pages will be a valuable resource for you. Our financial aid staff is also here to assist you with any questions you may have, by calling (661)654-3016. If you have any suggestions as to how we might improve our service, or our web pages, please complete our online Student Satisfaction Survey at http://www.csub.edu/finaid/survey.shtml.

We are committed to assisting you in realizing your educational goals here at CSUB because we believe in higher education and its power to positively change individuals and their families for generations to come.

Sincerely,

Ron Radney, Ed.D.
Director, Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships
