It's too late for regular admission into the university To make-up academic performance deficiencies A desire to take a particular class for personal growth or professional development Personal academic goals that do not include a degree objective To enter or explore a new field of study To return to school in the middle years of a career To begin academic course work while attending the Intensive English Language Center A low cost alternative to regular admission for international and out-of-state students to sample the academic environment at CSUB
Do I Need to be Admitted to CSUB? No. Formal University admission is not required and transcripts will not be requested or required.
Are There Any Differences Between Open University Classes and the Classes Regular Students Take? No. Students taking courses though Open University take the exact same courses that students admitted though regular admissions take. Hence, the same requirements for taking a course also apply to students wishing to take a course though Open University; for example Math and English courses require a placement exam prior to enrollment in those courses.
Will I Get Credit and Grades? Yes. Open University students fulfill the same course requirements as regular students and these courses usually apply toward degree programs.
Extended University current fees are:
Lecture: $175 per quarter unit for undergraduate course; $200 per quarter unit for graduate course
