Class Description:
This class is all about you expressing yourself. You’ll paint and draw while learning to work with a range of materials, both traditional and non-traditional. While learning to paint and draw you’ll be studying about renowned art masters including Winslow Homer, René Magritte, Claude Monet and Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot. We encourage you to have fun with tools and materials such as watercolors, oil pastels and acrylic paint. Mix colors, experiment with washes, draw from direct observation and then draw and paint your heart out! Fall in and have fun!

Instructor and Location:
Classes are conducted on CSUB campus and taught by CSUB students who want to become elementary classroom teachers.

Class Meeting Times:
Children ages 6-8: 8:30am-10:30am
Children ages 9-11: 11am-1pm
Saturday October 23, 30, November 6, 13

Class Conduct:
Children must follow the CSUB Children’s Art Institute Code of Conduct when participating in class.

Registration Information:
• Cost for class pre-registration: $40
Cost includes registration, materials for class and instruction fees for all 4 Fall art classes per child.

• No refunds for children who miss a class when paying full enrollment.

• Children must attend the session that is appropriate for their age group only.

• Class drop in fee: $15 a class
Have a grandchild, friend or family member of the appropriate class age dropping by for the weekend? Want them to attend a class with you? Bring them along with you for the class for only $15! Drop-ins may only attend classes that are in line with their age. Must fill out a parent information page available on the registration site.

Withdrawals/refund policy:
The Children’s Art Institute requires one week’s advanced notice of withdrawal from the start of the class or a $10 cancellation fee will be incurred. No refunds after the first class.

Publicity policy:
The CSUB Children’s Art Institute reserves the right to use photos taken during classes and other programs. Registration in a class gives the Art Institute permission to use that image without further consent.

Other Information:
Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. In the event of a cancellation, parents will be notified and fees will be refunded.

CSUB and the Children’s Art Institute are not responsible for children dropped off before class time or children left after class time is over.

Suggested supplies and attire from home: a paint shirt or smock, bottled water with the child’s name on it to drink.

CSUB Employee Discount:
A child of age that is a current CSUB employee’s child or grandchild with CSUB ID will receive a $5 discount for pre-registered class participants for only. Not valid on class “drop in” fees. This discount may not be applied with any other discounts.

Family Discount for Siblings:
If more than two or more children from one family participate the family is entitled to a $5 discount off the total amount for registration for family members. This applies to family siblings only. Discount is per family, not per child. For pre-registrants only and not available to “drop-in” fees. This discount may not apply to any other discounts.

To continue children’s art at a low class rate on our campus we would appreciate your support by making a monetary donation to the CSUB Children’s Art Institute.
