

About the Program
The Attorney Assistant Certificate Program is designed to update skills of legal secretaries and paralegals as well as to provide the necessary background for those planning to become attorney assistants or considering law school. Attorney assistants/paralegals are widely recognized as professionals and find positions in law offices, courts, corporations, and bank trust departments.
Admission
To be accepted into the Attorney Assistant Certificate Program, an applicant must have completed ONE of the following:
If not, you may be admitted under Conditional Status and begin taking the Attorney Assistant courses while completing the required 30 semester units, or 45 quarter units or continue working toward the 5 year law office experience. Suggested courses include those that will transfer such as History, Government, English, Math, or Administration of Justice. Computer and general office courses are recommended. Also, Business Law and Criminal Law may be transferred into our program as electives.
Requirements
Students must apply and pay application fee of $55. Students must complete five (5) required courses. In addition to the required courses, student must complete enough elective courses to total 36 quarter units total for completion of the program. All courses must be passed with a grade of “C” or Better. A “C-” is not a passing grade. Upon completion of 36 quarter units, the student will be awarded a certificate of completion stating that they have completed the education requirements to satisfy the California Business and Professions code 6450c.
