Become a Certified Lactation Educator (CLE®)

Certified Lactation Educators (CLE®s) are professionals in many fields: RNs, Pediatricians, Obstetricians, Midwives, Nurse Practitioners, LVNs, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Dietitians, Childbirth Educators, Doulas and Peer Counselors.

About the program

This program is comprised of multiple units, each dealing with a specific area of relevance to the breastfeeding mother and her infant. The program meets five consecutive Fridays in a classroom setting and includes:

  • 153-page booklet
  • Case studies
  • Breastfeeding laws & regulations
  • Post-test study guide
  • Participation in the community
  • Online final exam

CEUs are available for those that need them and everyone who completes the program will be recognized as a Certified Lactation Educator (CLE®).

About the instructor

Jodi Rosen, RN, BSN, IBCLC

Jodi brings more than 27 years of medical experience as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Educator, Nurse Manager, Program Manager, Lactation Educator, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and author. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at San Diego State University and her International Board Certified Lactation Consultant at University of California San Diego. She is a passionate advocate of maternal/child health, breastfeeding, program development, and professional growth. Jodi is a proud and an experienced breastfeeding mom of her three children.
