CSUB's Environmental Resource Management (ERM) degree program prepares students for public and private sector careers in this area. Students must complete core requirements as well as a concentration. The innovative Hazardous Materials Management concentration is one of the first baccalaureate-level programs in California to articulate with accredited environmental technology programs offered by community colleges throughout California and other western states. The community college programs provide the hands-on skills required for environmental and safety compliance, emergency planning and response, and site remediation. CSUB's upper-division curriculum adds the theoretical knowledge and breadth required to coordinate complex tasks, manage human resources, and communicate risk/benefit trade-offs and other technical information to policy makers and the general public. Articulation with Bakersfield College and other participating schools ensures students completing accredited environmental technology programs will be able to transfer their course work directly into the baccalaureate program. |
