The Rayburn S. Dezember Leadership Development Center was created with the needs of the community in mind. We provide the most technologically advanced facilities available, while at the same time giving local businesses and organizations a level of customer service that is unmatched in the area. We add to that the power of California State University, Bakersfield and bring you the best training and career advancement services available in Kern County.

We can provide the tools you need to conduct your own training programs or we can custom design one to fit your specific training needs. The Leadership Development Center is dedicated in grateful recognition of the many contributions of Rayburn S. Dezember to the California State University, Bakersfield, and to our community. Ray Dezember has established himself as a leader in local businesses and industries and as an enthusiastic advocate for the Southern San Joaquin Valley. His commitment to our community is widely recognized by many philanthropic and business organizations that have been positively affected by his extensive and broad-based involvement. His cultural appreciation and respect for diversity is exemplary; his leadership has been inspirational; and his commitment to educational excellence is legendary. This beautiful new center dedicated to developing leadership skills is appropriately named for Ray Dezember, whose life exemplifies leadership and the highest standard of ethics and morality.

Upon endorsement of the Faculty and the recommendation of the President of California State University, Bakersfield, and by action of the Board of Trustees of the California State University, the Leadership Development Center is officially named "The Rayburn S. Dezember Leadership Development Center".
