Science Bowl XIV
CSUB alumni turned out for the 14th annual Regional Science Bowl on Feb. 11. The Science Bowl, hosted by CSUB's School of Natural Science and Mathematics, featured 28 five-member teams from Kern County high schools. The teams competed in a fast-paced, question-answer quiz format that covered a wide variety of science and math genres. Alumni volunteers didn't have to be rocket scientists to participate as we played key roles as timekeepers, scorekeepers and rules judges. We'd also like to recognize the many alumni who were outstanding coaches for their high school teams: Chad Savage '99; Dan Gillam '97; Stacy Baehr '87; Annette Wells '96; Danielle Farrell '92; Penny Andrews '00; Cathy Crosby '74; Anna Danville '96 and Jonathan Wykoff '92.

Athletics Night at the Islands
Although this event was moved to Feb. 24, many alumni volunteered and attended the "Auction at the Islands" night at the Icardo Center. This fundraiser, formerly known as Casino Night, was a big hit for the campus and community alike.

Homecoming 2006
Your Alumni Association hosted a fantastic night of food, fun and prizes for the homecoming game on Feb. 25. Our VIP room was a hot spot during the game for alumni association members and life members. And best of all the Roadrunners beat CSU Monterey Bay twice!

Alumni Survey
Over the next five to six years, CSUB will be engaged in an organizational learning process to determine the university's direction, focusing on student learning outcomes. Many of our alumni with e-mail addresses received an important survey to aid us in this effort. We would like to thank those of you who took the time to participate! Meet Your Alumni Board
Perry Eggleston

Eggleston, who has five sons, is a busy patrol sergeant at CSUB. His duties include supervising officers, working with the campus, and parking. The Bakersfield native has watched Bakersfield and CSUB grow. “I’m excited to see CSUB takiang the next leap to Division I,” he said. “(CSUB President) Horace Mitchell has a vision and I support that.”
