Prospective freshmen wishing to attend California State University, Bakersfield in the fall quarter must have their application submitted no later than March 1. No California State University campus will accept applications after that date.
Only fully eligible upper division transfer students, international students and non-resident students are exempt from the March 1 deadline.
"We are working closely with local high schools to make sure students understand the deadline," said Steve Wakin, CSUB's director of outreach. "We are offering assistance with the application process and available to answer any questions. We want to ensure that first-time freshmen wishing to enroll in the fall quarter have the opportunity to do so. The importance of submitting an application to a CSU campus prior to the March 1 deadline cannot be stressed enough."
Many CSU campuses stopped accepting applications when a systemwide impaction was declared in November as a result of the state's severe fiscal crisis. Currently applications are only being accepted at the following CSU campuses: Bakersfield, Dominguez Hills, East Bay, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Monterey Bay, Sacramento, San Bernardino and California Maritime Academy.
Applications may be submitted online at www.csumentor.edu.
