CSUB activities scheduled in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness MonthApril 3, 2009

In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, California State University, Bakersfield will launch a month-long series of events starting with a special presentation on Preventing Sexual Violence in the Workplace on Monday, April 6 at noon in the Health Center conference room.
The activities are sponsored by the CSUB Counseling Center, President Horace Mitchell, Associated Students, Inc., Campus Violence Prevention Committee, Student Athletic Advisory Committee, and various campus organizations, and are held in conjunction with the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault.
"I'm really excited that our campus is involved with these activities," said Janet Millar, CSUB counselor. "It clearly tells us that sexual assault awareness is an important topic that we should all be discussing."
CSUB's Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities are as follows:
- Monday, April 6, noon, Health Center conference room, Preventing Sexual Violence in the Workplace
- Tuesday, April 14, 6 p.m., Student Union patio, Take Back the Night
- Thursday, April 23, 12:30 p.m., Dorothy Donohoe Hall, room H146, Denim Day
- Wednesday, April 29, 6 p.m., Dorothy Donohoe Hall, room F100, The effects of sexual violence on intimate partners
