Evening of Opera at CSUB

The California State University, Bakersfield's Opera Theatre will present An Evening of Opera and Musical Theatre, Friday Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Doré Theatre.

The performance will include scenes from Bizet's "Carmen," Verdi's "Falstaff," Offenbach's "Tales of Hoffman," and Bernstein's "West Side Story." Arias from Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro and Carlisle Floyd's "Susannah" will also be presented.

Numerous CSUB students will take part in this grand production, including: Sarah Feliz, Gretchen Anderson, Sara Kean, Cora Frantz, Bryce Loo, Jessica Trevino, Juan Morales, Almalinda Duran, Erika Santiago, Adrianna Medel, Courtney Baugh, and Marisa Johnson.

Peggy Sears, CSUB music professor, will direct the production. Piano accompaniment will be provided by Yulia Kozlova and Ryan Ramming. Set design and lighting will be done by Ray Finnell, and costumes will be designed by Roger Upton.
