California State University, Bakersfield's Antelope Valley campus will be holding an informational session for students interested in earning a master's degree in English on Wednesday, April 23 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the MacQuarrie home, 646 West Ave J-4, next to Park View School in Lancaster.
"Students can earn their master's degree in English right here at home," said Charles W. MacQuarrie, associate professor of English. "We have a very strong program and there is no need to travel all the way to Northridge or UCLA."
The master's degree qualifies students to teach in the California community college system or secondary schools. Additionally, the advanced degree prepares students for careers in editing, advertising and public information.
At the information session, prospective students can meet professors, students currently enrolled in the program, and the graduate coordinator. The curriculum and possible career options will be discussed.
The information session is free and refreshments will be served. For additional information, contact MacQuarrie at 661-952-5098 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
