An open house and tour is scheduled Friday (March 4) at California State University, Bakersfield’s CSUB University Counselor Training Clinic. The clinic provides counseling services to those who otherwise might not be able to afford it.
The event will provide the public an opportunity to see the wide range of services available to those who don’t have mental health insurance.
“This is an excellent service,” said Kathleen Ritter, counseling psychology coordinator. “So few people know about it.”
Individuals and groups who refer prospective clients to the clinic will be recognized at the event, which provides experience for future marriage and family therapists.
The clinic offers individual, couple, family and group counseling services to members of the Bakersfield community. Counseling services are provided by advanced graduate student clinicians from CSUB, supervised by a licensed marriage and family therapist. In addition, the public will be able to meet the graduate students at the event.
Fees for counseling services are $25 for the first session and $10 per session thereafter.
The open house and guided tour will be held Friday, March 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. in room 200 in the Education Building at CSUB.
For more information, please call the clinic at (661) 664-3402.
