A special information program for those interested in
starting a master’s degree or teacher credential program at
California State University, Bakersfield is scheduled
Monday, June 13, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Dezember
Center on the CSUB campus.
Representatives from a wide array of CSUB’s graduate and
credential programs will be on hand to assist prospective
students begin the application process and answer any
questions they may have about the various graduate degree
programs available at CSUB.
“This event is to help those who are interested in starting
work toward a master’s degree or a teaching credential in
fall 2005 but for whatever reason haven’t had the
opportunity to come to campus and begin the process,” said
Edwin Sasaki, associate vice president for academic programs
at CSUB. “It’s like one-stop shopping - begin your
application process, and, at the same time, have all your
questions answered by the people who are in charge of the
program you’re interested in.”
The information program will begin with a welcome from CSUB
President Horace Mitchell, followed by an overview of the
graduate programs’ admission process and the university’s
requirements for graduate degrees and teaching credentials
by Sasaki.
Prospective graduate and credential students will then be
able to meet with staff members from CSUB’s Admissions and
Records Department who will be able to access student
records to help expedite admission, and also with program
representatives who will be able to answer questions about
specific graduate or credential programs.
Programs that will have representatives at the information
session include business administration (MBA), public
administration (MPA), administration-healthcare
administration (MSA), master of arts in education
(specializations in curriculum and instruction, educational
administration, literacy, and special education),
counseling, teaching mathematics, nursing, secondary
education credential and interdisciplinary studies.
