"Another look at Lawrence Tibbett: America's First Cross-over Artist"

A California State University, Bakersfield music professor will discuss the extraordinary career of renowned baritone Lawrence Tibbett at the CSUB History Department's next History Forum.

Professor Jerome S. Kleinsasser will take "Another Look at Lawrence Tibbett: America's First Cross-over Artist" at the History Forum scheduled Friday (April 18), at 3:30 p.m. in Room 112 in the Music Building on the CSUB campus.

Kleinsasser will explore Bakersfield-native Tibbett's rise to fame as America's foremost operatic baritone and follow his forays into popular entertainment ranging from an Academy Award nomination to a starring role in this country's foremost pop-music program, "Your Hit Parade."
