CSUB Hosts Library Careers Open House

Students and community residents will have an opportunity to learn about the wide range of interesting and intellectually challenging career options available in library science at the Library and Information Science Careers Open House, scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, between 1 and 5 p.m., in the Walter Stiern Library at California State University, Bakersfield.

Attendees will also be able to meet with representatives from graduate schools offering library and information science professional programs.

Those considering library science as a potential career and those curious about the profession's opportunities will be able to talk with librarians and information scientists who are working in schools, private industry, public libraries, universities, and medical environments.

The graduate programs at UCLA and San Jose State University, and the school librarian program at Fresno Pacific University will have representatives on hand to answer questions. Other programs outside California that offer distance services programs may also be represented.

For more information, please call Curt Asher at the Walter Stiern Library at (661) 664-3251.
