CSUB hosts Open Campus for high school seniors
California State University, Bakersfield hosts the 28th annual Open Campus Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Icardo Center, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The annual event is designed to introduce high school seniors to the academic programs and the variety of student activities at CSUB. Students will get to meet faculty, staff, and students; tour the campus and residence halls; and learn more about financial aid, scholarships, and student services. They can even take advantage of on-site admission.
More than 650 students from 58 high schools throughout the Central Valley have been invited and are expected to attend the event. In addition, 50 high school counselors will take part in the program to learn more about CSUB admission requirements.
Students who wish to apply for on-the-spot admission to CSUB should complete the CSU application and pay the $55 application fee by check or money order (or submit the CSU Fee Waiver Request Form). Applicants must have earned a minimum 3.0 grade point average and have completed the CSU course requirements, including 30 semester units of college preparatory courses.
