Musica da Camera, goes "Back To Baroque"


Musica da Camera, California State University, Bakersfield's chamber orchestra, goes "Back To Baroque," featuring the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m.

Featured guest soloist will be flutist Miriam Grisso performing Bach's "Suite in B minor" for flute and strings. The ensemble will also perform the "Suite in C major" joined by two oboes and a bassoon. CSUB music professor Gordon Mehling is Musica da Camera's music director and conductor.

"This is a rare opportunity to hear Bach's music in a wonderful acoustical setting," Mehling said.

The concert will take place in the Olive Drive Church, 5500 Olive Drive.

Advance tickets for Saturday's concert are available at Russo's Books in The Marketplace shopping center, and will be available at the door the evening of the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $10 general admission, $7 for students and seniors, $3 for children under 10.
