Nursing Department receives grant
The Nursing Department at California State University, Bakersfield has received a $32,000 grant from the federal government for training nurses at the graduate level.
Candace Meares, chair of the Nursing Department, said nurses have three options for graduate study: community health, nursing case management/administration, and family nurse practitioner.
"Nurses in all three options are eligible for grant assistance as long as they are attending full-time (eight quarter units)," Meares said. "Also included will be students interested in the school nursing credential, which is layered on the student's choice of one of the three options."
Those interested in CSUB's nursing program or in the graduate assistance should call the Nursing Department at 661/664-3103, or Meares at 661/664-2093.
