CSUB performing arts professors honored
Two California State University, Bakersfield professors from the Performing Arts Department were honored at the recent Arts Council of Kern's 2000 Arts Awards Banquet.
Jeffrey Mason was awarded an Arts Achievement Award in Theatre, "honoring an outstanding artist who has made a significant contribution to his discipline."
Gordon Mehling was awarded an Arts Practitioners Award in Music, "honoring an individual who, through a lifetime of involvement in his discipline, has enhanced the quality of life in Kern County."
Mason is a theater arts professor, while Mehling is a music professor and director of CSUB's chamber orchestra, Musica da Camera.
"We are pleased and proud of the awards accorded these two fine people," said Anita DuPratt, chair of the CSUB Performing Arts Department. "This is another indication of the quality of education available at CSUB."
