GRAPES database
The GRAPES database catalogs extramural funding opportunities of interest to prospective and current graduate students, students working on a master's thesis or doctoral dissertation, and postdoctoral scholars. It contains information on over 500 private and publicly funded awards, fellowships, and internships. Advanced search options allow users to refine their search by field, academic level, award type, award amount, and other criteria. GRAPES is maintained by the Graduate Outreach, Diversity and Fellowships Office through UCLA.

Summer Research Opportunities

Keck Geology Consortium
Each year the Keck Geology Consortium has undergraduate research opportunities for approximately 51 undergraduate students in a wide variety of geological/environmental science sub-disciplines and locations. The program includes 4 weeks of summer research (field and/or lab work depending on the project), continuing research during the academic year (jointly advised by a project faculty member and a research advisor at the students home institution), attendance at the annual Keck Geology Consortium Symposium, and a publication in the annual Keck Geology Consortium proceedings volume. Students receive a $1,500 stipend and typically all travel and living expenses are provided for.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Summer Research (MIT MSRP)
This summer program seeks to identify talented sophomores, juniors and non-graduating seniors from around the country who could benefit from spending a summer on MIT's campus, working in a research laboratory under the guidance of experienced scientists and engineers. The program features supervision by an MIT faculty member and postdoctoral fellow or advanced graduate student; weekly seminars/workshops; preparation and delivery of a research poster and paper; individual counseling on academic careers; hands-on training in active, "real-world" laboratories; and participation in social and cultural activities in the area.

IGERT is the National Science Foundation’s flagship interdisciplinary training program, educating U.S. Ph.D. scientists and engineers by building on the foundations of their disciplinary knowledge with interdisciplinary training.

WebGURU
The Web Guide to Research for Undergraduates (WebGURU) is an interactive web-based tool intended to assist undergraduates navigate the hurdles of an undergraduate research experience.
