Volunteering

“It
is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no
man can sincerely try to help another without helping
himself.” ? Ralph Waldo Emerson
Acting as a volunteer can be one of the most rewarding
experiences in life. Giving of one’s self to further the cause
of social responsibility can have as many benefits for the
volunteer as it does for those being served.
Two programs are
offered through CPSL which offer course credit for time served
as a volunteer; Human Corps and Service Learning.
Through Human Corps,
CPSL can assist the student with placement in an existing
qualified organization, or can work with the student to
establish new partnerships with organizations that may or may
not be related to the student’s academic major in which the
student desires to work. Click here for more information about
Human Corps.
Through Service
Learning, the student will have the opportunity to participate
as a volunteer in an organization that is related to a specific
class. Click here for more information about
Service Learning.
If your desire is to simply become more involved in serving the community and you are not seeking credit for your service, please visit the Community Service Cooperative (CSC) web site. |
