FISHAMERICA FOUNDATION (07/31/08)
The Foundation funds hands-on projects at the local level that
enhance fish populations, restore fish habitats, improve water
quality, and advance fisheries research in North America and
Canada. The Conservation grants will provide for stabilizing
stream banks, aeration systems, fishing reefs, silt removal,
planting trees and vegetation, fish passage improvements,
hatchery construction or renovation, and litter cleanups.
Funding is also provided for stocking and rearing projects with
long-term value and rentals of heavy equipment to remove silt
from fishing ponds, construct fish ladders and bypasses,
demolish and remove dams, or placement of large pieces of wood.
