Overview
There is a growing
movement across the nation to provide university students with
opportunities for community service as a part of their
educational process. This movement is aimed at renewing
students' involvement in human welfare issues and thereby
encouraging the development of a more meaningful philosophy of
life.
Human Corps is a
community service program supported by CSUB, the local community
and ACTION (The Federal Domestic Volunteer Agency). Students
are placed in volunteer positions with non-profit and public
service organizations throughout Kern County. Each placement is
designed to complement a student's interest, whether for
professional development or personal growth. The flexibility
afforded to each volunteer fosters wide acceptance from students
from all grade levels and disciplines.
