Overview
The Center for
Community Partnerships & Service Learning (CPSL) at CSU,
Bakersfield believes that each one of our students should be
given the opportunity to participate in a variety of learning
activities that contribute to the enrichment of his or her
educational experience.
We have found that volunteerism and internships allow students
to increase their knowledge and strengthen skills, while also
giving them valuable experience outside of the college
classroom. Because of
this, we strive to establish new sites in the Bakersfield
community that can provide our students with the opportunity to
engage in these activities in conjunction with their formal
university training. We
would be delighted to offer our students volunteer and/or
internship opportunities with your organization.
Through organizations
and companies such as yours, CPSL offers students three avenues
to choose from for the purpose of earning academic credit.
Through the Human
Corps Program, students earn academic credit for volunteer work
performed at non-profit organizations which have partnered with
CSUB for this purpose. If you believe your organization would
benefit from this type of program, please follow the “Human
Corps” link located on this page.
Through our
Internship Program, students work in either paid or unpaid
internships, performing duties that will enhance their
marketable skills. If your company or organization would like to
consider offering internship positions, follow the “Internships”
link located on this page.
