Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault Hotline support and crisis counseling (volunteers must complete a 63 hour training program before working with clients). Clerical office duties also available with no training requirements.  Bakersfield, CA 93301 M & Th 9-6pm              F 8-5pm 
Alzheimer's Association A licensed adult day care facility. Volunteers will assist in daily activities: walks, crafts and exercises. Volunteers will also assist with office work. Must have TB test before going to site. Bakersfield, CA 93308 M - F  8:30am-2:30pm
American Cancer Society Volunteers will assist with phone calls for survey and support of the "Call Back Program" requires 2 hours of training. Clerical duties also available.  Bakersfield, CA 93304 M -F 9-5pm
American Lung Association of California This person will be in charge of formalizing the process to become a volunteer for the ALAC. The student will also coordinate with program managers to link volunteers with program needs. The student will also try to recruit and retain current and new volunteers. THe volunteers will need to be tracked and confidential files will have to be created. The student may also have to volunteer at ALAC events, program and fundraisers. Bakersfield Brigade  Make outgoing calls to expose new customers to Brigade ticket packages starting with full season tickets.  Assist in distributing ticket marketing materials/pocket schedules.  Assist with the sign up registration of fans and data base updating.  Bakersfield, CA 93308 To Be Determined
Bakersfield Christian High School Volunteers will be academic tutors for the high school students. Bakersfield, CA 93314 M - F 7:30am-4:00pm
Bakersfield Homeless Center Assist staff with various tasks.  Possible volunteer areas include: case management, tutoring, childcare, and food services. Bakersfield, CA 93305 M - F 8-5pm          S - Su 5:30am-1:00pm
Bakersfield Museum of Art Art students can work in the curatorial area (exibits). Buliding and grounds beautificiation, curatorial, docent tours, exhibit openings, free family day, front desk, mailings, educational programs, and special events. Bakersfield, CA   93301 Varies including weekends
Bakersfield Police Activities League (PAL) Opportunities to help children from 8 - 17 years old in several different areas:  assist coaches with sports activities, tutoring, art, and mentoring. Bakersfield, CA 93304 M - F 2-6pm (varies)
Boys & Girls Club of Kern County The Club provides after-school services to children, ages 5 through 17.   Activities include homework assistance, computer education, photography, sports, life skills, and more.  Orientation takes place on the 1st & 3rd Monday of the month at 5pm. Kern Adult Literacy Council Provide tutoring to individuals or small groups for family literacy programs, GED programs or ESL classes. MARE Riding Center Act as a horse leader, side walker, office aide, or facility maintance dependent upon need. Wind Wolves Preserve Watering habitat restoration sites and repairing drip line irrigation systems. Maintaining a native plant nursery, collecting native seed, and propagating container stock.
