Eric Lord, LCSW

Eric Lord

Mr. Lord is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. After earning his B.A. in Child Development from Humboldt State University, he spent 5 years in Southern California working with children in residential care. Mr. Lord earned his masters degree in social work from CSUB in 2008. Since that time, he has worked within the fields of mental health, child welfare, and with adults and children exposed to trauma including domestic violence and sexual assault. Mr. Lord is dedicated to helping CSUB students address their most pressing concerns while they continue to work toward their life’s goals.

 

Janet Millar, MA, LMFT

Janet Millar

Ms. Millar is a graduate of CSUB. She has over twenty five years experience working as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  She worked in private practice in the community before returning to CSU, Bakersfield in the all of 1999. She is interested in and enthusiastic about helping students work through the concerns that affect their university experience. She is currently Vice Chair of the Academic Senate and instrumental in organizing Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness months’ activities each year at CSUB.

 

LaShawn Barefield, MA, LMFT

LaShawn Barefield

Ms. Barefield is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is a graduate of UCLA and has been a member of the Counseling Center since 2001. She strives to be an advocate for students in their quest for academic and personal achievement.

 

Michael Harville, Ph.D.

Michael Harville

Dr. Harville is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who joined the Counseling Center in January, 2005. He is a CSUB graduate, receiving his B.A. in Psychology and English and an M.A. in Psychology. He received his doctorate in 2002 from the California School of Professional Psychology, Fresno (CSPP). Dr. Harville has strong ties to the community and the University and values working with students, faculty, and staff. He has significant experience working with stress, anxiety, and depression. He welcomes couples and LGBT students.

Ruth Miles, LMFT

Ruth Miles

Ms. Miles is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and CSUB Alumni. She received her masters in counseling psychology in 2005. Ms. Miles has a background in working with a wide range of mental health concerns. Some of these areas include substance abuse and addiction issues, eating disorder and body image struggles, grief counseling, as well as anxiety and depression. Ms. Miles began working in the CSUB Counseling Center in 2013. She loves working with students and being a part of the campus community.

Jacqueline A. Wiebe M.D., F.A.P.A.
Diplomate, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

Dr. Wiebe has worked at the CSUB Counseling center since 2014. Dr. Wiebe graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Physiology and Cell Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1990, and with a Medical Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1994. She subsequently completed psychiatry residency training at the University of California at Irvine in 1998, and later completed a fellowship in ECT at Duke University in 2001. Dr. Wiebe is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Wiebe has extensive experience working in a variety of psychiatric service arenas, and is in her tenth year of providing services in the area of university student mental health. She particularly enjoys working with this student population to help them maximize their functioning while at university and beyond.
