Cash for College Workshops: Cash for College is a public-private partnership program of the California Student Aid Commission. Their mission is to help low-income and first-generation California high school seniors and their families in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Cal Grant application to be successful in pursuing education beyond high school. Workshops are held annually between January and March.
College: Making It Happen!: Occurs annually in the Spring at a college. This event is coordinated and hosted by Cal Soap and we encourage our students to attend the event. It is a countywide program for students in grades 6-11, parents, and community leaders. The purpose of this program is to encourage early college planning, preparation, and financial planning. Workshops primarily focusing on four systems of higher education, A-G requirements, study skills, financial planning, and college life are available to all participants. The event is currently scheduled March 22, 2014.
Celebrate CSUB :Every year we invite our students to the Celebrate CSUB event, in which CSUB celebrates its commitment to excellence. We coordinate, develop, and deliver workshops to enhance our students’ college outlook and provide them with essential information to promote academic success. We also provide our students with incentives and prizes to highlight and acknowledge their attendance, participation, and commitment.
