Professor Ted Murphy's Facility for Animal Care & Treatment (FACT) Homepage Extensive information on Kern's habitats and endangered species; photographs and text California Environmental Resources Evaluation System (CERES) Extensive information system developed by the California Resources Agency to improve environmental analysis and planning. Includes databases organized by counties, bioregions, and watersheds. Information Center on the Environment (ICE) is a cooperative effort of environmental scientists at UC Davis and collaborators interested in environmental protection.

- Water Association of Kern County- The Water Association of Kern County was organized in 1955 to keep the public well informed on activities in the field of water problems and on the continuing need for water as the basis of full development of Kern County and California.
- California Department of Water Resources
- Water Education Foundation A nonpartisan foundation whose mission is to educate the public on California water issues. See Briefing on California Water Issues, Western Water (a periodical), and an extensive set of Laypersons's Guides to California Water.
- CALFED Bay Area Delta Program's mission is to develop a long term comprehensive plan that will restore ecological health and improve water management for beneficial uses of the Bay Delta system.
- California Watershed Information Technical System. A project of the California Environmental Resources Evaluation System (CERES).
- Association of California Water Agencies. Over 400 members responsible for delivering 90 percent of California's water supply.
