1. Do I log in as a "Student "or "Employer"? -there isn't a place for department name.
Log in as an employer using your department name as "company name." Example: Natural Science and Mathematics Dean's Office. Once you create an employer name, the next time you log in to the system, you will just type one word of the name and all employers with that word in their name will come up and you just choose yours. Example: "Science" will bring up "Natural Science and Mathematics Dean's Office," "Computer Science," and any other departments with the word science in their name that have created an account.
2. What if I have a grant? What would my "company name" be?
Use your academic department name, just as you would now.
3. Why should I create an account? Isn't that more work for me?
Creating an account is a one-time process that allows you full access to all your job postings. From your account you can post and pull jobs from any computer 24/7, you don't have to wait for us to post or pull your job.
In addition, the system will archive all of your past job postings. This will save you time in the long run, because it will allow you to re-post a job by pulling up the old one, making any changes you want and re-activating it.
4. What happens once I post a job? When do I get the hiring form (form 105)?
Once you post your job, the CECE will review and activate the job posting and create a form 105 that will be emailed to your email address. This process usually takes two working days or less (just as it does now).
5. What happens if I have a student in mind for the job?
You will post the job as you normally would and limit the posting to 3 days or pull it down as soon as you get the hiring form.
6. What if I need help with something in RunnerLink?
We are available during working hours to walk you through the process or to trouble-shoot any aspect of RunnerLink. Just call us at 654-3033.
Student's enrollment status can be determined by asking the student to log in to their MyCSUB web account (www.csub.edu, click on "MyCSUB"). They can then scroll down to the most recent quarter to show current enrollment or print their transcripts to show current enrollment.
You may call 654-3033 and speak to Katrina Gilmore or Kathy Velguth at the Center for Community Engagement & Career Education.
