For Our Clients!
Our services include cultural resources and archival records searches, Phase
I pedestrian inventories, Phase II significance evaluations and Phase III
data recovery projects. These services are provided to fulfill compliance
obligations as outlined under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
and/or Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended,
and its implementing regulations (36 CFR 800).
We would appreciate the opportunity to quote on your project and any future
projects for which our services would fit your needs. As a not-for-profit training
center, we can provide these services at extremely reasonable rates.
Our principals are all members of the Register of Professional Archaeologists
and we hold a valid Bureau of Land Management permit. CAR has been active
in cultural resource management (CRM) in southern and central California for
almost 20 years, completing more than 700 CRM projects.
|Historical Resources Records Searches
Historical Resources Records Searches can be performed at any of the California
HRIC branches. We are proud of our prompt response to client needs and offer
this service at a very competitive rate.
|Phase I/Pedestrian Inventory Surveys
From small private parcels to large residential and industrial development project
areas, we are proud of our ability to perform timely and cost-efficient
surveys followed by quality technical reports.
|Phase II Test Excavations
Phase II excavations are required to determine potential significance of archaeological
sites. We have performed Phase II testing throughout the southern San Joaquin
Valley, the southern Sierra Nevada, the western Mojave Desert, and in other
locations as needed.
Project mitigation activities include professional consultation for our clients,
mitigation plan development, on-site project monitoring for potential archaeological
site discovery, and Phase III data recovery as needed.
CAR conducts historical research for the preparation of occupation histories (including
resource inventories) via the examination of primary and secondary sources,
legal documents, and oral histories.
|Section 106 and CEQA Consultation
The CAR staff has over 55 years of experience providing consultation for our clients
in the intricacies of Section 106, CEQA and other state and federal compliance
