Financial Aid & Scholarships
|
The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships administers many financial aid programs, which enable students without adequate finances to attend the University. Staff members are available and eager to provide information and guidance concerning the financial aid application and delivery process. The four kinds of financial aid available to CSUB students are grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships. With the exception of some academic scholarships, most funds are awarded on the basis of financial need. Scholarship information is available on the Scholarship Board at the CSUB AV main building. Most students are eligible for loans. A student's first step in the financial aid application process is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit it to the federal processor for need analysis. The FAFSA is available at California high schools, college and university financial aid offices and at the CSUB AV main building. Or the FAFSA may be submittedon-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships home page has additional information concerning the financial aid application and delivery process. The home page provides information about how to apply, types of aid, downloadable forms, requirements, award determination, processing timelines, financial aid questions, links to other financial aid sources and scholarship searches, how to contact the office, and Financial Aid Highlights, which is a periodic electronic news update.
