Goal I: Providing our majors with a well-structured set of curricular and co-curricular experiences as well as mentorship to derive a sound education related to the profession/discipline of physical education/kinesiology.

Objective 1: Students will demonstrate acquisition of a comprehensive knowledge base in physical education/kinesiological concepts, issues, facts, and theories from biological/physical, behavioral, socio-cultural, and humanistic perspectives.

Assessment: A grade of C or better in all physical education courses taken to satisfy graduation requirements.

Assessment: Successful peer teaching (conducted in teaching technique and curriculum development courses).

Certain questions will be specific to student opinions on what they believe they have learned and if they believe they are prepared to effectively teach physical education.

Objective 2: Students will demonstrate movement skill proficiency in a broad variety of movement and fitness activities and attainment of health fitness standards, both at a level necessary to effectively teach and model a variety of motor skills and health fitness.

Assessment: A grade of C or better in all required and elected professional activity courses (meeting skill proficiency and health fitness standards will be required in order to achieve a minimal grade of C).
