Mission Statement: The primary mission of the program is
to prepare future special education teachers who can work
effectively with students with Mild/Moderate/Severe Disabilities
by applying pedagogy that values the inter/intra-individual
differences of all students with disabilities and allow them to
develop their potential to the fullest extent possible for their
personal, academic, and career development. The focus of the
CSUB Special Education Program is the development of
instructional, interpersonal and management skill competencies
for teachers who see themselves as “reflective decision making
professionals” always in the process of becoming.
