Mission Statement: The mission of the School of Education
is to strengthen the foundations of democracy and equal
educational opportunity through quality programs which prepare
committed education professionals and counselors in the context
of a linguistically and culturally pluralistic society.
Philosophy: The philosophy of the School of
Education has as its basis confluent education that perceives
learning as the merging of cognitive, affective, social, and
psychomotor domains. This belief underscores the premise that
education nurtures and promotes intellectual growth and the
emotional, social, and physical well being of all students with
a special focus on diversity and equity.
