Goals

Knowledge:  Graduates should be able to analyze and evaluate the strategic, tactical, and operational factors that influence or impact the organization.
 

Goal 1 - Strategic Factors:  Analyze and evaluate the strategic factors that influences and impact the business environment.
 
Strategic Objective A:  The ability to comprehend, describe, and explain environmental forces which include economic, social, legal, technological, and global influences.

Strategic Objective B:  The ability to comprehend, describe, and explain specific industry-related forces; assess how these forces affect business; and build strategies based on reasoned arguments. Specific forces include customers, suppliers, rivalry, substitutes, and barriers to entry.

Goal 2 - Tactical Factors:  Analyze and evaluate the tactical factors that influence and impact the business environment and make choices based on reasoned arguments.
 
Tactical Objective A - Structure:  Demonstrate the ability to describe and explain the influence of organizational structure and the resulting inter-relationships between the functional areas of an organization.

  Tactical Objective C - Capital:  Demonstrate the ability to analyze and use financial and managerial methods, concepts, and theories to solve problems relating to accumulating, controlling, and investing capital in organizational activities.

  Tactical Objective D - Marketing:  Demonstrate the ability to utilize various methods for assessing and analyzing the markets for developing products/services while meeting organizational goals.

Tactical Objective E - Operations:  Demonstrate the ability to comprehend, analyze, and manage the systems necessary for the production and delivery of a product or service.

  Tactical Objective F - Information Systems:  Demonstrate the ability to analyze the systems and methods used to identify, collect, and manage data to facilitate decision-making.

Goal 3 - Operational Factors:  Analyze and evaluate the operational factors that influence and impact the business environment.
 
Operational Objective A:  Demonstrate the ability to analyze and manage the dynamics of individual differences, perceptions, attitudes, motivation, decision processes, and commitment within an organization.

Operational Objective B:  Demonstrate the ability to analyze consumer behavior and utilize this understanding to achieve organizational objectives.

Objective A - Analysis Methods:  Demonstrate the ability to use quantitative tools and analysis methods, such as descriptive techniques, multiple regression, and time series analysis to explain and interpret business problems.
