Student Learning Objectives for CSUB Political Science
Majors:
| Objective 1: |
Distinguish between current theories of
politics and analyze current political situations in
terms of one or more of the above theories.

| Objective 2: |
Know the structures of U.S. national
government and explain their relations to each other and
to State and local governments.
|
| Objective 3: |
Critique reasoning of judges; analyze
the courts' roles in U.S. society.
|
| Objective 4: |
Formulate hypotheses, research designs
and apply appropriate analytical skills, including
quantitative reasoning, to the study of political
science.

Practice of empirical research and
statistical applications.

| Objective 6: |
Understanding of philosophical
traditions in the West.

Understand the ethical dilemmas facing
