Assessment Calendar (Spring, 2008)

Direct Assessment

• 1. The American Institutions Government Committee shall directly assess one of the four objectives each year.
• 2. Measurement:
  • a. The percentage of students achieving adequate (>70%), good (>80%), or superior (>90%) standards on the political science waiver examination.
  • b. The percentage of students achieving adequate (>70%), good (>80%), or superior (>90%) standards on a single essay question examining the selected objective inserted into midterm or final examinations for all sections of the approved courses during a single quarter.

Indirect Assessment

• 1. The American Institutions Government Committee may indirectly assess one or more of the four objectives each year.
• 2. Measurement:
  • a. Surveys of student attitudes toward the instructor and course.
  • b. Surveys of student evaluations of their own achievement of the identified American Institution Government goals and objectives.
