Schedule of CSU Fully Online Classes for Fall 2016

Before enrolling in an online course at another CSU, you should consult with your academic advisor to determine how the course may apply to your degree requirements.
If a ** appears in the catalog title of a course, the course consists of both a lecture & lab. Please register for both courses.

The Academic calendar at Calfiornia State University-Bakersfield may be different than your home campus. Here are some key dates to remember for Fall Semester 2016:

  • Last day to drop class: September 19, 2016
  • First day of class: August 22, 2016
  • Last day of class:  December 6, 2016
  • Finals Week begins: December 8, 2016
  • Grades due: December 20, 2016
  • Days campus is closed for holidays:
    Labor Day-September 5, 2016
    Veterans Day-November 11, 2016
    Thanksgiving Break-November 24-25, 2016

Taking an online class at CSU-Bakersfield

There may be a number of differences in how our online course is delivered as compared to your campus

  1. Our courses use our technology platform called Blackboard. You can become familiar with the platform by completing our tutorial at bb.csub.edu and click on the Student Sarter Guide link.
  2. You will get access to myCSUB from the main web page at http://www.csub.edu and then clicking on the myCSUB link in the upper right corner. If you should experience problems with accessing your myCSUB account, instructions are right there on the login page.
  3. You have access to all our library resources and you can explore our online library services at http://www.csub.edu/library/index.html.
  4. Our Bookstore can provide you the course materials you need for your class. Go to http://www.csub.edu/currentsudents and click on the Bookstore link for more information.
  5. The CSU also provides you a free online library on supplemental learning resources- http://www.merlox.org. You are welcome to explore and use these free resources to help you learn.
  6. If you need to ask questions about using our technologies, you can call our Student Tech Center at 661-654-2307. The HelpDesk is open 7 AM-10 PM, Monday-Thursday and 7 AM-5 PM Fridays.
