Additional Information for Master's Degree Candidates
All students must complete a minimum of 32-quarter units in residence at CSUB.
Supplemental Transfer Credits
All graduate transfer credit is processed by the Evaluations office. Transfer credit, which is not yet included on your records, will be granted ONLY if official transcripts are on file and are needed to meet graduation requirements.
Change of Address
The Evaluations office must be notified of any changes to your mailing address after the Application for Graduation has been submitted. Failure to provide a correct or changed address may delay the response of the application and/or diploma.
Diplomas will be mailed within four to six weeks after the date of graduation, or within two weeks from the actual clearing date of the degree. If you arrange for someone to pick up your diploma, he/she must have written authorization and provide identification.
Candidates for Graduation List
Filing the application form for graduation places the student on the list of candidates for graduation; it does not guarantee graduation. These lists are available in the Dean's Office. If your name does not appear on the list, but you intend to graduate, you must check with the Dean's Office of your major to verify your graduation status.
If you do not qualify for graduation
If you do not qualify for graduation at the end of the quarter for which you applied, you must submit a new application for the quarter you plan to complete the requirements. There is a $55.00 fee for re-applying.
Post-Graduate StudyStudents wishing to continue taking classes after receiving a Master's degree must re-apply for admission to the University.
